Abstract
Academic publishing plays a vital role in advancing research, fostering international collaboration, and enhancing academic careers. This presentation provides an overview of the academic publishing process, including selecting suitable journals, preparing high-quality manuscripts, understanding the peer-review process, and addressing common challenges faced by researchers. Drawing on international academic experience, the session offers practical guidance to help researchers and graduate students strengthen their scholarly writing and increase their opportunities for successful publication.
Biography
Dr. Valeria Vershinina is the Deputy Director of the ASEAN Centre at MGIMO University and holds a Ph.D. in Political Science. She earned her bachelor's degree in History, Asian and African Studies from the Institute of Practical Oriental Studies and completed her master's degree in International Regional Studies at MGIMO University in 2017. In 2014, she completed a one-year academic internship at Hanoi State University, Vietnam. In 2021, she received her Ph.D. with a dissertation entitled Regional Integration Organizations in the Foreign Policy of the Middle Powers: The Case of Vietnam.
Dr. Vershinina is fluent in both English and Vietnamese. Her research focuses on the role of middle powers in international relations, Vietnam's foreign policy, ASEAN, Russia–Vietnam and Russia–ASEAN relations, and regional integration in Southeast Asia. She also regularly contributes analytical commentaries to Russian and Vietnamese media on regional and international affairs.
